Amelia & Matt Wedding 10/10

Amelia & Matt was so amazing to work with for their beautiful, stylish, laid back, fun wedding in New Orleans!!  I am so glad the rain held out for their ceremony in Jackson Square.

The day started with Amelia and Matt getting ready at the awesome Omni Royal Orleans.  Surrounded by their wedding party and family, they truly enjoyed the entire day and they were so relaxed even with the weather not being the best that day!  I hung out with Amelia and her girls for a little while as they were getting dressed for the wedding and enjoyed their excitement that day. Amelia’s dress, shoes and veil were stylish and awesome for her!  (Love the shoes!)  Such a great style to the wedding and great taste!  I then went to visit with Matt and his guys on another floor, and get some shots of them. Well, I knew it would be an interesting day when I could hear the groomsmen cutting up from all the way down the hall of the hotel room!  Yes, they were enjoying the spirits and goofing off.

Amelia & Matt decided to see each other before their wedding ceremony and I truly love when couples decide to do it.  Makes for great pictures and we get more time to play and do fun, creative images.  Time is the key word!!  Their first meeting before the ceremony was sweet and truly loving and you could see both of them just totally relax after.  After their first few moments to themselves, it was time for walking around the French Quarter to grab some fun shots and to get all group shots out of the way.  Once we were done, it was time to hang with the groomsmen at a local bar so they could chill and relax while the girls primped back at the hotel.  Then, ceremony time in Jackson Square.  Amelia and her bridesmaids arrived in traditional New Orleans carriages and ready to walk down the aisle.

The ceremony was sweet, and short (and blessed by the St. Louis Cathedral bells!).  To celebrate the ceremony, Amelia and Matt lead the way through the street of the French Quarter with a traditional New Orleans second line and jazz band with their family and guests following.  First stop – Bourbon Street daiquiri shop.  The wedding guests were treated to a daiquiri by the couple and then the second line continued to the reception held at The Napoleon House.  The gorgeous flowers and arrangements were created by Elizabeth Walden Designs.  The reception had a great feel to it.  It seemed like every single person there were very close – or it appeared that way to me.  Not a stranger around and Amelia and Matt are truly adored by their friends.  The toasts were absolutely hilarious (see last pic) and followed by the funniest skit by the best man/brother of Matt and maid of honor/cousin of Amelia.  Amelia and Matt’s expression is truly pricely in the background.  No one expected that!  Truly a great time that day.

Amelia & Matt, you guys were truly wonderful to work with and I am so glad to have been part of your wedding and meeting your family and friends.  You guys are such a great couple and so incredibly sweet.  Congratulations!!!
