Joanna and Nevin’s wedding day was a sweet homecoming and a celebration of love. A wedding and Nevin’s return from his duty on a submarine about two weeks before equals pure happiness for this couple. You could see Joanna and his family were extremely thrilled Nevin was home and that everyone was together in New Orleans to celebrate their marriage. Family and guests travelled from out of town to witness their wedding in New Orleans. A great city to get married in!
Joanna and Nevin started their day at the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. Both were surrounded by their bridesmaids, groomsmen and family witnessing the start of their day. Joanna’s hair and make-up were done by Glamour Therapy. She looked radiant and excited, but a little nervous also. Nevin was all smiles getting his dress uniform on and enjoying the company of his groomsmen and his father in his room. Such sweet splendid love. The church ceremony was held at Parker United Methodist Church in Uptown New Orleans. The reception was then held at the beautiful Montegut House in the French Quarter. I truly love this location with its quaint charm and a beautiful French Quarter style courtyard, along with a beautiful oak tree surrounded by chic chandeliers hanging above. What a perfect location for a romantic reception.
A military sword ceremony introduced Joanna and Nevin into their reception. The family and guests enjoyed the music from Jayna Morgan and the Sazerac Sunrise Jazz Band, food catered by Pigeon Caterers and cake by Croissant D’Or. What a great treat for their out of town guests. Food, family, music, celebration of a homecoming and love. What a perfect wedding night in a great city!
Joanna and Nevin, congratulations and enjoy your new home! mq
