I had so much fun shooting Tabitha & Mike’s wedding. What a fabulous and fun couple and a great wedding. Every detail was planned by Tabitha herself, who is a wedding/event planner from Los Angeles. She had every minute mapped out for the vendors, she had other wedding coordinator friends help at the wedding and she then enjoyed her day as a bride!! Tabitha did a fantastic job of giving up her coordinator duties and was a beautiful, smiling, extremely happy bride.
The day started with Tabitha and Mike and all of their wedding party getting dressed at the W Hotel in the French Quarter. I just love their courtyard. Tabitha and her girls had their make-up done by Brandy at BGD Makeup Artistry. I always love to see Brandy – she is so sweet and extremely talented. I got to spend some time with Tabitha and the girls and also got to hang out with Mike and his guys and grabbing some shots of both the bride and groom getting ready. And, of course, my favorite part, is Tabitha and Mike seeing each other before the ceremony so we could spend some time together grabbing some cool shots at the W Hotel. They planned extra time before and after the ceremony to do some fun shots!!
The ceremony and reception took place at one of my favorite spots in the French Quarter – Latrobe’s. Jessica at Latrobe’s is always great to work with. Such a great architectural and historical building with so much character. It was a great place for Tabitha and Mike’s family and friends to see since everyone was from out of town. Tabitha is from Lafayette, Mike is from New York. They met while attending college in New York and now live in California. So, they had so many great family and friends who joined them in New Orleans for their wedding festivities. Very loved and sweet couple.
Latrobe’s was decorated beautifully with Tabitha’s vision. The gorgeous flowers were done by Diane at Fat Cat Flowers. The cake was Flour Power (yum!). They had their ceremony in the carriage house, followed by a sit down dinner in the main room and then the party continued back in the carriage house. They got that house rocking with some good music from two DJ friends of Tabitha from California, with the help of Rob at Pyramid Audio. And, one of the greatest moments (which made me cry!!) was having a friend of theirs surprise them with a short performance by Grandpa Elliott. Grandpa Elliott is a unbelievable street singer from New Orleans (plays at Toulouse and Royal and you can see videos of him on YouTube). He was AMAZING and brought tears to my eyes with his voice. Such a fantastic surprise.
Beautiful, fun wedding with some really great people. Congratulations Tabitha and Mike!!!
