Elana & Darryn’s Wedding 5/24

Elana and Darryn had a fabulous wedding weekend for their destination wedding to New Orleans. They made a complete enjoyable weekend for all of their guests, who all were from out of town. They had Rebirth Brass Band and good food from Bella Luna for their rehearsal dinner at the Foundry and a gorgeous Jewish ceremony and rocking reception.  The weather was a little uncertain right before their ceremony, but it cleared up and it was beautiful.

Elana and Darryn started their day at the W Hotel.  Elana looked stunning – Heather with Flawless Bride did her hair and make-up.  Heather is very talented and always does an incredible job for brides.  Elana and Darryn saw each other before the ceremony close to the ceremony site in the Sculpture Garden.  After their first meeting, we got to spend a quick few minutes grabbing some cute shots of the two of them and then off to the ketubah signing.  Jan Morel with Perrin Street Productions (504-491-5445) was their wedding coordinator who had all of the details taken care of for the couple and kept the day running smoothly.  The Jewish ceremony was then held in the Sculpture Garden under the incredibly gorgeous huppah designed by Fat Cat Flowers.  I loved the flowy look to the huppah.   The ceremony set up was a little different, but very interesting.  All of the guests sat in a circle around the huppah and Elana and Darryn circled through the guests on their way up to the huppah.  The chairs were set up in a way they just kept circling all the way around for the circling tradition.  So, they did it different and it was interesting to see.  They had the New Orleans Jazz Vipers for the ceremony, who added another touch of elegance to the ceremony.   And Blink Video was there to capture their entire day as well – great to work with Melanie & Christine again!!

After the ceremony, Elana and Darryn and their guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in the Sculpture Garden with N.O. Jazz Vipers playing.  Then the wedding reception began with a second line over to the New Orleans Museum of Art, where the party continued with Bobby J rocking the house.  The guests enjoyed a candy bar and another second line inside of the museum.  The coolest part of the night was that Elana and Darryn had their own personal Mardi Gras going on.  They had tons of personalized beads made and went to the second floor balcony of the museum to throw their goods, while Mardi Gras masks were passed out to all of their guests to enjoy during the bead catching!!  Such a cute, fun idea and I think they enjoyed that balcony and ready to be on a float now!!  It was a great part of their reception.

Elana and Darryn, congratulations!  Fabulous wedding and I know you guys must have had just an incredible wedding weekend down in New Orleans!!  Come back for more snowballs:)
